臨床工学科の山下知子講師らの研究成果が、国際学術誌「Cureus」に掲載されました。

The Association Between Tongue Pressure and Body Mass Index, Lower-Limb Muscle Strength, and Muscle Mass in Community-Dwelling Older Adults

本研究では、地域在住高齢者447名を対象に、舌圧とBMI、下肢筋力、筋肉量との関連を検討しました。その結果、舌圧の低下は下肢筋力や筋肉量の低下と関連していることが示され、舌圧は口腔機能だけでなく、全身の筋機能とも関連する可能性が示唆されました。
